I'm with you on that, but fairly, there might be a couple of C-Suiters that have entrepreneurship backgrounds, though I'd add "privileged" in superscript...
What I mean to say is that C-suiter is to entrepreneur what biologist is to physicist. Yet people regularly assume that expertise in business generalizes to all arenas. There are a few multidisciplinary scientists who are tremendous biologists and physicists, but it would be crazy to go to one for advice about the other and just expect it to work.
Fortune 500 CEOs don’t know a damn thing about starting a business. Completely different skillset.
